I am excited to be completing the CSA MA Children's Book Illustration this year. I recently took part in a brief interview to promote the show:

What's your favourite picturebook/ illustrator and why?

John Burningham’s The Avocado Baby was certainly a favourite growing up. I still love it now, not because avocados are so en vogue, but for the humour and eccentricity of the story and for Burningham’s uniquely human characters.
Shifting tone, I am always tugged right in my gut by Michael Rosen and Quentin Blakes’s Sad Book. It’s a beautiful example of what can be achieved with excellent collaboration. Roger Duvoisin’s delightful characters in his Petunia series also excite and inspire me.

What medium do you work in?

Lately I've been using watercolour, coloured pencil and layering these elements in photoshop.

What's your favourite bookshop?

My favourite bookshops are Heffers and Waterstones in Cambridge. Topping and Company in Ely is where, aged nine or ten, I had my first taste of Harry Potter so that’s one that I always feel warmly towards.
